AJ is the COO of Affinity, a full-fledged digitally driven financial institution that provides affordable banking services to the underserved and unbanked, targeting eight out of the seventeen UN SDGs. Affinity has built a tech platform for both digital natives and low-fidelity users, enabling 24/7 banking services to the mass market at a low cost.
AJ is a banking professional passionate about entrepreneurship and use of technology to promote financial inclusion for SMEs. Prior to Affinity, he worked for 14 years in product development, credit, business development and strategy in SME Banking at Standard Chartered Bank and Stanbic Bank. He is an early investor and formerly on the board of Pesewa One PLC, a business incubator focused on building a platform for young African entrepreneurs.
He has an engineering background and a CFA charterholder.
