Adoma Owusu recently joined MTN Group as the General Manager: Fintech Business Development & Expansion. In this role she is responsible for the exploration and delivery of M&A, Joint Venture & Partnership opportunities across the Fintech value chain and product for MTN Group.
Prior to that she was the Country Manager for Visa in Ghana, where she was overseeing all of Visa’s operations in the country and was responsible for determining and executing on strategies for the market, cultivating close relationships with key decision-makers, growing the existing business, and identifying new opportunities. Under Adoma’s leadership, Visa recorded key milestones in Ghana including the launch of Visa QR solution, the acceptance and expansion of contactless transactions across the country and facilitated and expanded access to strategic fintech partnerships like expressPay and Hubtel.
Adoma is an accomplished Financial Services Professional who is passionate about digital innovations and has over 20 years of progressively responsible business experience in high pressure and multinational, pan-regional and domestic corporate, service driven environments. She has been featured as one of the Top 50 women in Fintech across Africa. As an Afro-Optimist, Adoma is passionate about contributing to the development of the African continent through mentoring young African leaders, especially women. She also enjoys reading varying genres for relaxation as well as personal and career growth.
She holds an MBA, Post Graduate Degree in Management as well as a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree majoring in Genetics & Biochemistry.
