Iyembi Nkanza
Iyembi Nkanza is passionate about simplifying payments to unlock business opportunities. Currently serving as the VP of Strategic Growth at Flutterwave, Iyembi has established himself in the digital payments industry with a proven track record of success working across Africa, Asia, and North America.
Over the years, Iyembi has worked on numerous initiatives to streamline and improve digital payment systems. He began his career in management consulting in South Africa, advising Telcos on digital strategy. He also spent six years at Alipay, living in China for two years and then becoming part of the founding team responsible for the launch and growth of Alipay in Canada.
Today, Iyembi continues to drive innovation and growth at Flutterwave, where he plays a critical role in shaping the company’s strategic vision and identifying new expansion opportunities. With a focus on Enterprise merchants entering Africa, he remains committed to simplifying payments and unlocking new business potential.
Iyembi holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Economics, an Honours Degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
