Muyiwa Babarinde is a seasoned Marketing & Growth specialist with close to a decade’s experience in Strategic Marketing, GrowthMarketing, Reputation and Crisis Management for brands in the technology and financial services industries. He is currently the Head of Marketing for Waza( YC ‘23), a B2B payments platform that make it easy for African businesses,traders and other institutions to make their global B2B payments in USD, EUR and GBP.
Prior to this Muyiwa previously led Marketing/Communication for Alpha Mead Group and Red Media Africa. Over the years, hehas worked on go-to-market campaigns for startups including: SeamlessHR (formerly Insidify), Rex Africa and brands like:Meta (formerly Facebook), Uber, Hp, Apple, Access Bank, Union Bank, Nigerian Breweries, Unilever, British Council amongothers. He has been recognized with accolades such as the SABRE Awards for Best ‘Brand Building’ & ‘ ReputationManagement’ campaigns in Africa.
Muyiwa passions lie in technology, marketing, and national development and how they can be harnessed to create newpossibilities. He is the curator of the Global Shapers Community, Lagos Hub an initiative of the World Economic Forum whichaims to improve the state of the world through dialogue and action.
Muyiwa has a B.Ed in Language Arts from Obafemi Awolowo, University; and a Diploma in Professional Marketing fromChartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom.
